POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for selling corporate products over the telephone daily in an automated environment, as determined by established sales and marketing programs. Responsible for attainment of sales goals, i.e. orders and revenue as established by Sales Forecast (normally customer acknowledged Orders per Day) and to close sales on new business by following up on personalized sample mailings.

Objective:

To make outbound sales calls to new or existing corporate customers across North America with the objective of obtaining, maintaining, servicing, growing and/or reactivating accounts.

Experience and Background:

This position requires familiarity with the US business environment. Awareness of local current affairs is also of importance. Outbound telesales and/or retail sales experience is an asset. Should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and must have excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Accurate keyboarding and computer literacy is also required.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with an expectation of overtime hours during the busy season (April to June and September to December).

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED.

Major Functions include:

  • Initiate outgoing sales calls to new or existing customers across North America in order to obtain, re-order, cross-sell, increase sales volumes and solicit referrals.
  • Present Myron's products to prospects.
  • Promote a positive and professional corporate image on the telephone and while on Myron's premises.
  • Act within the scope of authority and be consistent with company objectives, guidelines, policies and laws. Make recommendations for improving quality and effectiveness of company products and practices as required.
  • Overall need to maintain a positive sales environment and achieve growth in their account base by exceeding their sales forecast.

Specific Key function as a TSR:

  • Quote prices, inform customers of new and/or existing products, persuade customers to buy and/or increase through utilization of benefit selling, volume pricing and/or premium incentive programs for the existing and new client base. Such programs to be established by management.
  • Build relationship with customers by being their account consultant - probing to determine customer needs and how Myron can assist in helping the customer meet his needs and grow and build his business.
  • Accurately key in orders, make changes, and obtain imprint information, logo, etc. during the sales call. All sales calls must closely follow company prepared sales presentation guidelines.
  • Listen to customer complaints and requests. Institute the proper procedures to handle complaints by referring such calls to the Quality Specialist group and fulfill information/sample requests by the customer on an on-going basis. Guidelines for sample requests to be established by management.
  • Electronically record any pertinent customer feedback on customers' files and advise manager as necessary.
  • Perform at department standards in the areas of sales per hour, calls per hour, add-on sales, increases and conversion of accounts.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate customer mailing lists by updating customer information on an ongoing basis.
  • On an ongoing basis, keep management advised of any trends for orders, complaints, competition etc. observed during the performance of your duties.

Job Effort:

Each sales representative is provided with a data base of up to 1200 accounts with specific potential value and opportunity for a range of sales lift. The potential value of the assigned account is reflected in their individual budget. Reps are assigned to sales programs and teams based on their abilities. The minimum job expectation is to maintain company standards based on the specific sales program. A general guideline is: 25 dials per hour, talk time of 45% during productive hours and net sales quotas based on program.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to wear a telephone headset and sit at a desk for an extended period.

Compensation:

Compensation consists of a base rate plus commission. Base plus commissions on net sales is paid out on a weekly basis.
